About 50 miles southeast of Spokane, Washington, lies a small town called Oakesdale.  Once the junction of three major railroads, the town was named for Thomas F. One night, a couple of months ago, my husband and I were watching the evening news.  About halfway through the program, a feature was presented about medical evacuations of soldiers from Afghanistan to military hospitals in Europe.  I don’t really remember the gist of the whole story; but they did interview a soldier who was injured and getting ready to be evacuated.  He was injured enough that he needed to be evacuated, but he was able to stand and walk. Candy’s 1st Round Robin What a great name for a small group!  When asked how they arrived at that, they said that the group came up with a list of figures of speech, played around with them, and landed on this one.  (Great job, ladies–this “figure of speech” aptly describes your small group!) Individually and together as a group, they have produced many stunning traditional quilts and “edgy” art quilts.
