Marilyn Henderson saw this article in The Quilt Show newsletter and thought the rest of us would enjoy the story.  This story was also included in the Quiltfolk magazine’s Utah edition.  I’ve included a link to the newsletter article.  I also found another article about the Quilt Walk that includes a couple of videos and photos of a different quilt.  It’s a remarkable story.  Thanks, Marilyn, for passing this along.  Read More →

I did not grow up with quilters in my family (that I knew about at the time). I was in high school home economics learning garment sewing when I read about this exhibit. It was not the fabrics, but the design of these quilts that drew me in.Read More →

Submitted by Liz M.  (click images for larger views) Hello! I am following along with the Fat Quarter Shop Mystery “Bats and Boos”. This is a 4 week project that shares one block every Monday beginning August 2, 2021. Last week was “bats” and this week is “pumpkins”. What will the next two weeks bring? The finished quilt will be ~40” square. A quick stitch! You can use the bat blocks and/ or the pumpkins to create placemats or a table runner. What fun! Will the next block be a ghost? A spider? Are you following the color palette or adding in a pop ofRead More →

Submitted by Liz M. Last month, I asked what topics MPS members would enjoy reading about. Thank you for your replies! We have such a variety of interests in the guild which allows us to explore many topics. Many small groups have chosen a pattern and each member selects their fabric and stitches on their own quilt. The result is a group of quilts connected by the pattern but always interesting to see how the choice of fabrics affects the result! The internet has expanded opportunities for quilters to participate in a Quilt Along. It has allowed individuals who may not be involved with aRead More →
