We are proud to announce that our own Lisa Roberts is one of the featured artists in this year’s Portland Open Studios!  She entered the show and was the only fiber artist that was accepted.  The event takes place over the next two weekends (Saturday & Sunday)–October 8-9, and October 15-16 from 10 AM to 5 PM each day. Whew! It’s been a busy summer.  Hard to believe it’s August already… MPS has been busy, too.  Here are a few things that are going on: WE HAVE A WINNER!! And we at MPS are very excited about it! Jacquie fell in love with quilting in 2009 after seeing an exhibit of the quilts of Gee’s Bend. Their quirky, almost modern sensibility appealed to her, so she dusted off the sewing skills her mother taught her and set about learning to quilt. Jacquie found the emerging modern quilting movement and worked to develop her own voice and style as a modern quilter.
