“Playing In The Stars” I needed a quick baby quilt for the program director at my church. Finished just in time in the midst of planning her baby shower.

“Food for Growing Wings” College graduation quilt for my oldest kiddo.

Our small quilt group has enjoyed sharing 2 projects ideas. The table runner was a shared pattern and we each came up with our own fabrics. The Krista Moser quilt was done with making 27 scrap triangles. We had fun randomly selecting ‘new’ triangles.

First QOV, for my husband’s step-father, 86 years old. He is a navy veteran who served in the US Navy 1960-1963.
Panel is from the Coming Home collection by Vicki Gifford for Riley Blake Fabrics. Kit is up to the flags border; the outside border is my design.
I liked the panel and thought it fit my husband’s stepfather well, as he confirmed this type of activity on his ship, the USS Taconic out of Norfolk, VA. Myrtle Eddens creates these lovely labels. Quilted by Laurie Hopper.

“Sweet Land of Liberty” I saw this kit a few years ago, and thought it was really nice. I had no July 4 style quilts, so thought I should make one.

I was intrigued by how they made the four-patch blocks: sew pairs of squares together, stitch along sides,, cut down the center of the squares, layer the two-patch units, aligning the seams, sew along opposite sides, cut down center. Blocks measure 4.5×4.5

“Charlie’s Koala Bears” When a friend decided she was not going to use the Koala Bear fabric designed by Charlie Harper I said I see what I could do with it. I’m quite happy with the results. I just wish I could remember the pattern and designer.

“Lots of Love” This is a special quilt for my son and his fiancé for their wedding. The pattern was intimidating and a challenge but I’m pleased with the result. It is a variation of the Ocean Waves pattern. I added the diamond border to make it a little larger. I strongly recommend the Diamond Rects ruler. It’s always fun to try something new!

“Hugs and Kisses” This quilt was made for John’s grand-nephew and his fiancé for their wedding. They like blue and green and I added the orange for a spot of color. It was a fun quilt to put together. I made the same quilt in different colors for his brother a few years ago! I quilted it using a pantograph with lots of hearts.

I was making traditional flag wall hangings for Father’s Day gifts but I thought I could be more creative and quilty with the star area for the one I made for my husband and had a lot of fun with it!,

“4th of July Picnic” My neighbors throw an amazing 4th of July party every year and I wanted to make them a quilt as a thank you. I was in a huge rush to get it finished in time and I meant for it to be more like an Irish chain but forgot to make sure the 9 patch blocks had a dark center but I love the way it turned out.

While at the beach for the 4th, I realized my patriotic items were all in my bedroom there. The cross stitch designs were all done in the early 2000s. The little flag quilt was likely done about the same time.
