Ready to give your creativity a little alphabet workout? Our 2026 MPS Quilt Challenge theme is Use Your Letters, and it’s shaping up to be a fun one. Inspired by the 26 letters in the alphabet (and the 26th year of the 21st century—how perfect is that?), this challenge invites you to let letters guide your design in any way that sparks your imagination.
You can go literal and add letters to your piece, or take a more playful route by using your initials to inspire colors, blocks, fabrics, or techniques. Quilts are always welcome, of course, but past challenges have included everything from bags and pillows to clothing and other textile creations. If it involves fabric, you’re probably on the right track.
