This is a 4 week project that shares one block every Monday beginning August 2, 2021. Last week was “bats” and this week is “pumpkins”. What will the next two weeks bring? (click images for a larger view) I would argue the same could be said for quilting.  That’s why combining a garden show with quilts seems like a natural way to go.  Garden tours are delightful; but when you throw quilts into the mix, the results are wonderful! Bisa Butler is a fiber artist whose portrait quilts are astonishing.  They will draw you in and delight you with all the colors and textures of her materials.  And they will make you wonder about the story behind each piece. The Art Institute of Chicago is featuring her quilts in an exhibition called “Bisa Butler: Portraits”.  The exhibition is open now and will run through September 6, 2021.
