Claudia J sent this Instagram reel to me saying, “More people need to see this post from Quiltfolk”.  And I 100% agree! The reel is about 1 minute and 25 seconds long, and you’ll probably want to watch it more than once to catch it all.  Just click the button below to see the great quilty fashion. It will make you smile. Which one is your favorite?  Let us know in the comments below. I think mine is the hot pink, orange, and lime green number near the beginning of the reel.  And of course the last one.  But to be honest, I liked allRead More →

Do you follow “Frances Quilts” on social media or on the Web?  Frances Arnold spoke to us once in January 2022 and we liked her so much, we had her back in January of 2023. Christie commented on Frances’s monthly newsletter earlier this month.  Frances enjoyed her response so much, she asked Christie if she could feature her in one of her blog posts.  So, on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, followers of Frances Quilts were treated to some great eye candy and even learned a new way to describe our scrapes!  You can read the post by clicking on the button below.  I know you’llRead More →

Once upon a time, in 1999, 14 women, who loved quilting, gathered in someone’s living room and wondered if Beaverton, Oregon could support a quilting guild.  Many of them belonged to other quilting guilds in the Portland area; but the guilds were large and the women thought a smaller guild might offer a better opportunity for camaraderie and inspiration. They also wanted to have something closer to home. After their initial meeting, they decided to move forward with a new guild.  Flyers were posted in quilt shops and word spread in the old fashioned way–by word of mouth.  They procured the communityRead More →

Happy New Year everyone! This is going to be an amazing year in the life of MPS!  We will celebrate our 25th anniversary in some way at every single meeting and gathering this year.  There is an outstanding team, led by Christie Frey, that is busy planning many fun things for us!  There will be Monthly Mini Celebrations (MMCs) and one grand event on June 25th.  This is certainly a year that you will want to be fully engaged in the life of MPS so that you can enjoy each and every celebration activity! And, as our first meeting of the year is right aroundRead More →

Time to get Organized?

Submitted by Dianne McD. Organizing…love it or hate it! I think I fall somewhere in the middle.  I do love an organized sewing studio, although there are times you wouldn’t know it by looking at it.  And my stash is organized by color, which works very well for me.  Where I lack organization is in my project ideas.  Every MPS Show & Tell and General Meeting sends way too much inspiration my way and I want to try it all. A couple of weeks ago, Krista Moser wrote about “The Get’er Done Guide” that she created.  It’s clever, cute, and just might be the thingRead More →
