MPS member Jean Kelly, who is also a member of the Portland Modern Quilt Guild, is Queen of the UFOs, a designation she earned at the PMQG’s December meeting last night. How did she earn it and what did she win? Read on. A year ago at this time the PMQG issued a challenge to members to complete their unfinished quilts (UFOs) during 2015. About 50 miles southeast of Spokane, Washington, lies a small town called Oakesdale.  Once the junction of three major railroads, the town was named for Thomas F. Oakes who was then the vice-president for the Northern Pacific Railroad.  It is now a farming community nestled in the beautiful hills of the Palouse and is surrounded by wheat fields.
