Christie Frey “Buds and Blooms”
Another quilt made from 2 1/2” squares. Worked on this at May MPS retreat. Especially happy when I found the border fabric in my stash. As usual, this was made from stash in my sewing loft.
Christie Frey “Checkers Squares”
June’s 2 1/2” squares quilt creation. Saw a similar quilt on Pinterest which inspired me. Loved the contrast of the cool blocks with the warm blocks surrounding it. Simple cross hatch quilting seemed to be enough to hold it together.
Linda G “With Love”
My granddaughter has continued to use a fairy quilt made for her several years ago. Thought as an adolescent, she could use a more mature quilt for her new room. I sewed the many, many flippy corners on during MPS’s May Retreat. Simple pattern with two jelly rolls. Like the colors and design.
Teresa Koster “Magic Bubbles-The Art of Insanity”
I found this pattern on Pinterest. I’ve never seen anybody finish it. I started it last November and worked on it every Monday since. Finally finished it. It will go in the Quilt show here in Florida in November.
Cheri Shea “Cindy’s Quilt” and a “Passage Quilt”
Cindy’s Quilt: each mom in our camping group gets a quilt when they retire or “just because”. People in our group design a piece of fabric. Passage Quilt: this was a stack of pre-cut fabric from Heather’s house that we found during a fabric sort.
Terese Scollard “Dancing Dahlias”
I bought this Krista Moser kit right when it came out because I thought it was so stunning. The pattern instructions have the edge flowers cut off, but I couldn’t bear to do that because of all the work making them, so I just bound around them. Laurie Hopper quilted it similar to how Krista Moser quilts, and I really like how that looks. It uses special rulers to construct the flowers.
Debbie Shinoda “Scrappy 9-Patch”
I started making the 9 patch squares at the MPQG retreat. It’s a scrappy quilt for my soon-to-arrive Granddaughter that was fun to create. I cut the leftover squares in quarters to create a strip that was used on the quilt’s back.
