“Iditarod” Purchased Alaskan themed batiks at Moosepatch Quilt Shop, Talkneeta, Alaska. Loved seeing shed dogs at Susan Butchards and Jeff King’s homes. Made three table runners for Ruth, Trac and myself to celebrate the Iditarod! The batik was a challenge as the stamping was not straight and I had only a yard of fabric. Quilted by me with black thread. Never again!!

Quiltfolk 2025 “Quilting Thru the Decades” was delightful – International Quilt Museum lectured on what each decade did and contributed to quilting beginning with 1920s; block of the month pattern reflected the decade; and leaders in quilting talked about changing in quilting industry. Loved learning quilting history. Despite quilting for many decades, I learned something new: freezer paper piecing and how to weave chevrons together.

“Karen’s Quilt” I was able to completely make this quilt in one day. One of our ‘camping moms’ was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with less than a week to live. I delivered the quilt on a Friday morning so she and her family could enjoy and Karen passed the following Wednesday.

The pattern for this table runner was taken from a throw pattern (Village by Jumble) that I really liked. It allowed me to play with some different quilting designs.

I needed a long and narrow quilt to top my front room table. By making two lengths of the pattern I was able to make it long enough. An easy and fun pattern to make.

“From Scrappy to Nappy” I created strips from my box of scraps, added black fabric and used a special tool that a friend of mine made that makes perfect triangles with no trimming. Then I put the triangles together and made this beautiful lap quilt. I put Minky on the back and it’s really nice to cuddle up with.

“Sweet Charity” I made two quilts using fabric from an auction bundle shared with me by Dawn White. The primary difference between the two quilts are the borders. The half square triangle blocks on the one were the cutoffs from the flying geese blocks from both quilts. Both quilts will be donated.

“Charity Charmer” This is another auction bundle completion. I purchased several Tilda charm packs at a packing party. These with some of my other Tilda fabrics make up the back and borders. After Frances Arnold’s presentation I challenged myself to quilt it myself. Also after reading Krista Moser’s blog on Lumpy Quilting I was trying to have the quilting be consistent throughout. I used Krista’s back and forth method for the charm squares.
