Way back in January of 2015, two MPS small groups decided to join forces and work on a project together.  The members of the group, “Threads of Friendship” and the group, “Quilters on the Edge” entered the planning stages of their “Tula” project which was to begin in April.  The project was based around the book, “Tula Pink’s City Sampler: 100 Modern Quilt Blocks”.  The project was outlined as follows: From a pool of pre-arranged colors, each of the 12 members would be assigned one color. MPS Mystery Quilts

Back in July of 2016, MPS began a Mystery Quilt project.  The name of the project was “9-Patch Over-Under Mystery Quilt” by Susan C. Druding.  Each month, we revealed one or two clues to the project with the final clue being revealed in January.  Several of our quilters participated and the Grand Reveal was held this last April at our monthly meeting. “Every Quilt Tells a Story.” That’s the theme of the Metropolitan Patchwork Society’s 2017 Quilt Show.  With that theme, what better place to hold the quilt show than at the beautiful Beaverton City Library located in the heart of Beaverton, Oregon! Due to the hard work of our MPS Program Chairs, we have many fabulous workshops to offer in 2017: In January, we are offering a workshop by Sam Hunter.  She spoke to us in October and inspired us so much, we asked her to come back and lead a workshop.  She’ll be teaching us how to make her Dingbat Quilt, and will have the pattern for each student at the workshop which is included in the fee!  No need to purchase the pattern before class.
