Submitted by Dianne McD. Lori Mason is a textile artist with a studio in Portland, Oregon.  Besides quilting, she has also designed fabrics for RJR and Andover fabric companies. Her work will be featured at The Dalles Art Center beginning today, September 7, 2023 until September 30th.  This will be the first time many of her memorial quilts will be available for public viewing.  The exhibit will also include some of her studio quilts and her fabrics. Happy MPS New Year, that is.  It’s September 1st and that means it’s the beginning of a new year for us.  It also means today marks the beginning of our membership drive!  If you’re a member, it’s time to renew.  If you’re not a member, wouldn’t you like to be?  Metropolitan Patchwork Society supports quilters through education, inspiration, and fellowship.  And that’s not just a clever tag-line.  We really do that! Our 2023 Silent Auction is in the books and we are deeming it a success!  Over 100 quilters came ready to bid with the intention of taking home something they loved.  And with over 190 items from which to choose, they had no trouble finding something just for them.  From set-up to bidding to closing to checkout, everything ran like a well-oiled machine.
