On Tuesday, September 27th, we started our new MPS 2022-23 year with our very first Hybrid Guild meeting.  Now that we’re coming out of the COVID pandemic, we’re hearing about hybrid meetings quite often.  But what does that mean? (click images for a larger view) On the warm evening of August 23rd, 2022, MPS held its annual Silent Auction in the Fellowship Hall of the Bethel Congregational Church in Beaverton, OR.  With over 200 items up for bid, there was something for everyone.  Besides many curated packets of fabric, there were quilt kits, books, puzzles, bags stuffed full of beautiful fabric with a pattern to go with them, a basket full of wonderful linens, and a 1940 Singer Featherweight sewing machine.  I think I even saw a bottle of wine tucked inside one ofRead More →

Submitted by Dianne McD. “I forget how much talent we have within our guild,” I said as we were preparing for the MPS Outdoor Quilt Show.  On Saturday, July 23rd, 2022 and under the leadership of Linda H, 75 quilts were being unfolded and hung between the trees in the Evelyn Schliffler Memorial Park in Beaverton, Oregon.  It was early (we started at 7:00 AM) and the area was still quiet with the occasional-and curious-dog walker passing by.  As we hung the quilts and sometimes moved them from one place to another, one could tell this was going to be a good show. Reaching for Carrot
