Ready to give your creativity a little alphabet workout? Our 2026 MPS Quilt Challenge theme is Use Your Letters, and it’s shaping up to be a fun one. Grateful Heart

One word. So many heartfelt interpretations. For our 2025 MPS Quilt Challenge, members were invited to create a quilt—or any kind of textile art—that expressed what the word “grateful” means to them. And, as usual, the MPS members rose to the occasion in the most inspiring way. Yes, there were quilts (glorious quilts!), but that was just the beginning. Now that the MPS Quilt Show has wrapped up, it’s time to turn our creative focus toward the 2025 MPS Quilt Challenge! This year’s theme is the word “Grateful.” What does grateful mean to you? Whether it’s a feeling, a person, a moment, or a memory—let your interpretation guide your design. Before we get too far into 2025, let’s take one more look back at 2024 with our final 25th Anniversary celebration.  On November 26th, at our General Meeting, our members revealed the final results of our 2024 Quilt Challenge.  In keeping with our anniversary focus for the year, Ruth T challenged us to make something using 25 of anything–be it 25 fabrics, 25 threads, 25 seams–you get the picture. All of our members were given a fat quarter of silver fabric to use in our challenge projects or any other way we wanted. At the latest MPS Guild Meeting on Tuesday, November 28th, our 2023 Challenge Quilts were revealed.  It was a great evening of gazing upon beautiful and unique quilts made by the members that decided to take part in the challenge. As a reminder, our theme for 2023 was “Heritage on a Small Scale”.  We were encouraged to think back on our heritage and create a small, but meaningful quilt that represented what we saw as our heritage.  Some of participants looked to their heritage that came from foreign countries.  Others chose to represent the areas where their roots first took hold. Read More →
