When you see the MPS Organizational Philosophy, you’ll find the first sentence reads: The founding board envisioned a guild that would provide members with opportunities for friendship, fellowship, education and sharing in an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. Community Service was not mentioned there because the founding mothers did not want it to be the main focus of the guild. Our annual Silent Auction is coming up in less than two weeks.  Tuesday, March 22nd to be exact.  Mim is busy putting together some wonderful items for our bidding pleasure.  We will have gift certificates from The Pine Needle, Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe, and Cool Cottons.  There are also a couple of lovely gift baskets from The Quilter’s Corner Store and Tea Time Calicos. Are you one of those quilters who has resolved to work on UnFinished Objects (aka UFOs) in 2016? If so, MPS has an extra incentive for you. At the monthly meeting Jan. 27, MPS member Becky Swick announced a six-month challenge, beginning now and ending at the July 26 meeting. Members can join the challenge any time by paying $10.00, completing up to six UFOs, and showing the completed projects during the Inspirations (Show and Tell) segment of the monthly meetings.
