Join the MPS UFO Challenge!

Are you one of those quilters who has resolved to work on UnFinished Objects (aka UFOs) in 2016? If so, MPS has an extra incentive for you. At the monthly meeting Jan. 27, MPS member Becky Swick announced a six-month challenge, beginning now and ending at the July 26 meeting. Members can join the challenge any time by paying $10.00, completing up to six UFOs, and showing the completed projects during the Inspirations (Show and Tell) segment of the monthly meetings. Vickie completed the quilt in 2013 and displayed it for the first time in March at the Metropolitan Patchwork Society’s 2015 quilt show, where it caught the eye of local quilt historian and author Bill Volckening. Longtime MPS member Michelle Herrmann said her goodbyes a few days ago at the August guild meeting. She and her husband are moving to Seattle.
