Our annual MPS Silent Auction will be held this coming Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Bethel Congregational Church in Beaverton, Oregon.  Doors will open at 6:30 PM (and not before) as we welcome members and non-members alike into the room for some lively bidding on many great items.  Heather and Cydney work all year toward this evening as they gather fine fabrics and other quilty paraphernalia, as well as a few things that aren’t necessarily quilt related but can make quilting more enjoyable (wine, anyone?). On the late morning and early afternoon of Saturday, July 20, 2024, the lovely surroundings of Evelyn Schliffer Memorial Park in Beaverton, Oregon came alive with the vibrant colors and intricate patterns of quilts at the MPS bi-annual Outdoor Quilt Show. The quilts were gracefully hung among the trees, where they danced in the gentle breeze, creating a picturesque tapestry against the summer sky. And we’re thrilled! Once upon a time, in 1999, 14 women, who loved quilting, gathered in someone’s living room and wondered if Beaverton, Oregon could support a quilting guild.  Many of them belonged to other quilting guilds in the Portland area; but the guilds were large and the women thought a smaller guild might offer a better opportunity for camaraderie and inspiration. They also wanted to have something closer to home.
