Maggie Johnsen “Maggie and Jim’s Bedroom Quilt”
I made several quilts for friends and family and my husband says when do we get one? I saw a beautiful quilt on Etsy and decided to find the pattern. I was quite surprised it was an Elizabeth Hartman as it does not have her traditional flare. But AVALON is a pattern she created back around 2011.

Ruth Turler “Twin Baby Girl Quilt”
My nephew and his wife are expecting twins any day now. This quilt is for the girl twin. I made her twin brother’s quilt first and then designed this one to be the same size. A label in the shape of a cat will be added once her birth and name are announced.

Ruth Turler “Twin Baby Boy Quilt”

Crystal Niermann “Stormy Flower Garden”
I fell in love with this quilt block and used Prequilt.com to design the layout. I was too stubborn to pay for paper or rulers. Along the way, I had many adjustments to my quarter inch seam allowance. I quilted this myself using a pantograph with Sharon’s Longarm rental.

Carol Smucker “Running Wild”
Pattern was on the Free table. The fabric that I was given by MPS for being a new member showing a quilt on ZOOM seemed perfect for this quilt. Then I pulled fabrics from my stash to carry on the theme of circles and “wildness”.

Christie Frey “Primary Allie Squares Color Wash”
Scrap quilt. Class requirements…5” and 2 1/2” squares in two to three color ways. Flip and stitch triangles on opposite colors of 5” square. 49 squares later Allie helped with layout moving from dark to light values.

Christie Frey “Pink and Green Color Wash”
This version of the same block was sewn together using the web method. My granddaughter helped me in the process. The close up shot shows the quilting of only the centers leaving the corner triangles to pop out.

Terese Scollard “Hocus Pocus”
Saw this kit when it first came out and really liked it. Made it after a few years and then it sat to be quilted. After some more years, I decided to give myself permission to have it quilted professionally. The quilting design draws from the flowers and shapes on the pumpkins. I really like how it turned out.

Terese Scollard “Fall Foilage”
When this Krista Moser design and kit first came out a few years ago, I thought it was just stunning. I originally ordered the purple background, but before she sent it, she offered the greens, so I switched to the green background. I asked Laurie to quilt it like Krista does, and she did. I also did not want to cut the pretty leaves off, so just bound them as is, and like the effect.

Terese Scollard “Bats and Boos”
My first attempt at a Halloween Quilt using a free pattern from Fat Quarter Shop. Finished it a few years ago, and it also sat waiting to be quilted-and then I gave myself permission to send it to Laurie Hopper who did a great job. I should be all set for Halloween decorating, especially if I ever finish the Kimberbell Twilight Booolevard bench pillows!

Kathy White “Formal English Garden”
In a “Sexy Hexy” class with Pam Raby we experimented with different designs we could create within a hexagon. This one intrigued me. What if I used florals in the center and green around the outside of each hexagon? This sounded to me like a good way to use up some of the florals I had in my stash. To use even more of them I created the “Wild English Garden” for the back.

Kathy White “Lollipops and Licorice”
This is a “hand-me-down” from a friend who got started cutting the pieces and gave up. I had the blocks together but had not yet squared up the quilt when I thought to have those diamonds flow into a black border and to keep the blocks set off center. To add needed width and length I created the pieced border and an additional plain one. With this quilt I wanted to do the unexpected.
