Longtime MPS member Michelle Herrmann said her goodbyes a few days ago at the August guild meeting. She and her husband are moving to Seattle. July Meeting Highlight: Karla Alexander’s Trunk Show

Karla Alexander was the featured speaker at the July 28 MPS meeting. Karla, who lives in Salem, is a nationally known quilt designer, author, teacher, and designer of specialty rulers. Her patterns are available under the name Saginaw Street Quilt Company. MPS members were treated to a trunk show featuring many of the quilts pictured in her eight books, including her latest book Stack, Shuffle and Slide: A New Technique for Stack the Deck Quilts (That Patchwork Place, 2014). Sally Collins is Coming to Portland!

Sally is coming to Portland during April, 2015.  She will give a presentation to the Northwest Quilters Guild followed by two days of workshops hosted by NWQ.  She will then close out her Portland visit by leading a No-Sew lecture and demonstration which will be hosted by us, the Metropolitan Patchwork Society.
