That’s right.  Only 4 days!  Tuesday, March 22nd is the night of the big event.  Hope you’re gathering your dollar bills or digging around to find your checkbook.  We’ll also have a credit card reader there if that is more convenient for you.  The bidding begins at 6:00PM. While we’re bidding, we’ll fit in dinner and do a tiny bit of business.  There will be more than 100 items spread around the room waiting for our bids.  We thought we’d share more photos of a few of them. Beyond the welcome appearance of crocuses, daffodils, and daphne, the arrival of spring in the Portland metro area is heralded by a series of quilt shows. The first of these is coming up this weekend (Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19): the 22nd Annual Airing of the Quilts at the Milwaukie Center. Described as a community quilt show, the Airing of the Quilts is not affiliated with a guild. The featured artist is Barbara Neill, whose talk, “Anything Goes,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, from 11:00 am to noon. Our annual Silent Auction is coming up in less than two weeks.  Tuesday, March 22nd to be exact.  Mim is busy putting together some wonderful items for our bidding pleasure.  We will have gift certificates from The Pine Needle, Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe, and Cool Cottons.  There are also a couple of lovely gift baskets from The Quilter’s Corner Store and Tea Time Calicos. On Saturday, June 4th, MPS is hosting a workshop and Ann Shaw is the instructor.  She spoke at one of our MPS meetings in 2015, and we were greatly inspired by her work.  She makes beautiful art quilts using a piecing method based on what she learned from Ruth McDowell; and with Ruth’s blessing, she is teaching others.  We are excited to have her teach at one of our workshops.
