Sidnee is an artist who uses fabric and fiber as her medium, and who, in 2007, developed her own unique method of applique to make quilts.  Using her photographs, computer processing software, fabric and free-motion sewing, she creates beautiful art quilts.  While her earlier art quilts were more traditional and abstract in design, she considers her current work to be more representational of what she sees in her photos. When you see the MPS Organizational Philosophy, you’ll find the first sentence reads: The founding board envisioned a guild that would provide members with opportunities for friendship, fellowship, education and sharing in an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. Sally Collins is Coming to Portland!

Sally is coming to Portland during April, 2015.  She will give a presentation to the Northwest Quilters Guild followed by two days of workshops hosted by NWQ.  She will then close out her Portland visit by leading a No-Sew lecture and demonstration which will be hosted by us, the Metropolitan Patchwork Society. Q.  What has 16 thumbs and is showing some beautiful quilts in West Linn? A.  The MPS small group, Quilters On The Edge (QOTE) Yes, the small group has several quilts hanging at the West Linn Library in the Community Room.  These quilts are the result of their many group projects and will be displayed through the entire month of January.  There is a lot of diversity in their projects, so you will see a lot of different kinds of quilts.
